Responsive Website Design

Make sure your site works on every device

Once upon a time, everyone had to use a desktop or laptop computer to access a website. Those days are gone. In fact, over half of all web traffic to your website is going to be through tablets or phones.

That means that your website has to work great on both kinds of devices. Research shows that if a user can't navigate a site on a smaller device, they'll abandon that site and go elsewhere. Google has released a study that shows that 53% of users will abandon a site if it takes more than three seconds to load on their phone!

You simply can't take the risk of losing new clients because your site isn't modern.

The current web standard is "responsive design." This means that the website "responds" to the type of device and screen resolution and displays a page in the browser with the correct formatting for that device.

It takes a bit of skill to code a site to work so seamlessly, so it's important to check with your web developer to make sure this current web standard is followed. If you're running your own WordPress site, you'll need to make sure you keep your site files updated and constantly check for compliance with web standards.

At Waxwing, we're constantly staying up-to-date with the current technology to make sure our sites work great and provide a pleasant experience for your clients.
